Block-A-Day 27 – The Townhomes
Today I continue my quest in creating and posting one block a day of the fabulous That Town And Country Quilt by the lovely Susan Claire. This is day twenty-seven of that project.

This is a townhouse complex. Tall, relatively narrow buildings that house “up and comers,” newly marrieds and singles.
No yard maintenance, no shoveling snow, just pay a monthly fee, and you are self-contained. Sounds kind of wonderful sometimes. I lived in an apartment once. It was while we were building our big log house. I had never lived in a multi-family dwelling before. It was very different.
I found myself thinking that if people have to live very close together, that might make them a little crazy. I tiptoed around and shushed my little ones all the time. It made me nervous.
I knew I could hear everything my neighbors said, and surely they could hear us. Now I live in a big house with my son, his wife, his mother-in-law, and four children under the age of eleven.
We have cows, chickens, pigs, barn cats, geese, and ducks. Never a dull moment! I’ll bet the people who live in townhouses would be a little crazy with my life too.

I don’t read your blog every day. But when I have time to sit down and relax, reading your blog brings me joy and takes me to another place.

I’m happy to hear that! I think I have my work cut out for me, but it’s definitely worth it.
