Today I continue my quest in creating and posting one block a day of the fabulous That Town And Country Quilt by the lovely Susan Claire. This is day twenty-six of that project.

This quilt shows a tall gray building with a red roof. It has three doors and six windows in two horizontal rows. The words on the front read, — Click To Enlarge

Today’s building reminds me of an orphanage for reasons I can’t explain. It could be the number of doors or windows. When I look at it, I imagine many children looking out those windows. I think the vast building goes back a long way with a playground in the back.

There would be places for all ages. A nursery for babies and a playroom for toddlers. Classrooms for the children old enough to go. An ample dining room to feed everyone and dorm rooms for everyone to sleep.

It’s located in a nice suburban neighborhood, so prospective parents can visit and hopefully adopt—a building where new families are created.

I realize I’m painting a very rosy picture, but it’s my quilt, and that’s what I want to think about. Everything is so hard for everyone right now. I want a happy town to go to in my imagination.
