Today I continue my quest in creating and posting one block a day of the fabulous That Town And Country Quilt by the lovely Susan Claire. This is day sixty-nine of that project.

This quilt block shows a large bright orange building with many windows. The roof is triangular and red, like the door. There are eight windows, and in each window are images of different kinds of dwellings. The sign at the top of the building has written on it,

As you read that first paragraph, I hope you imagine a radio announcer’s voice—just a little jest.

I know an office in our area where the windows look much like this building: full of pictures of houses for sale and rent. As I’m sure most of you know, our area had a terrible fire last October.

Over 350 homes were lost. So housing has taken on a new urgency for everyone. Many people are still finding where they will be able to “hang their hats.”

We hold them in our hearts and wish them the best.
