Today I continue my quest in creating and posting one block a day of the fabulous That Town And Country Quilt by the lovely Susan-Claire Mayfield. This is day three hundred and forty-five of that project.

This quilt block shos three grain sacks made up of brown piees of fabric. Each sack has a black pen writing that says,

Looks like sacks of grain to feed the stock.

Probably oats or sweet mix for the horses, corn for the sheep, and blends for the pigs.

Our little friend here is the last thing anyone wants to see in their granary. Mice can eat a lot of grain.

That’s why you need barn cats.

Below that, still above the door, is a dark brown sign with white letters that reads, Block-A-Day 280 – Country Home Outfitter This quilt block shows a leafless tree, made of brown fabric, against a blue background with a cloudy full moon behind it. The full moon appears to be made of a ring of fabric/stitching with a filled in body of yellow pen. To the left at the base of the tree is a black cat. The cat is outlined with white stitching and white pen on black fabric to resemble a cat sitting facing to the right.Block-A-Day 218 – Smudge The Halloween Cat
