Today I continue my quest in creating and posting one block a day of the fabulous That Town And Country Quilt by the lovely Susan-Claire Mayfield. This is day two hundred and sixty-five of that project.

This quilt block shows a green produce stand like you might find on the side of the road. at the top of the stand, going across the green front are the words

Farmhand Produce is named after Farmhands 1 and 2.

This year they had a produce stand at our local Farmer’s Market. The day before the market, they would go to the front range with their mother. They had formed a partnership with a gardener there.

They would bring back vegetables and sell them at our local market. They split what they made with the gardener and then donated a portion to the Mountain Family Center.

This was also their community service project for 4-H this year.

A funny little story that my friend told me. She went to buy vegetables at their table. When my friend asked FM1 if FM2 was helping, he replied, “Barely.”

When she asked FM2 if FM1 was paying him, he replied, “Barely.”

This quilt block shows a very large tree that spans the whole block. Its trunk is brown and branches off without foliage. Each branch has a green piece of fabric at the end of it indicating the location of the foliage. Each fabric piece is outlined with yellow stitching. This is against a blue salmon-patterned background.Block-A-Day 215 – The Specimen Tree This quilt block shows a bunch of flowers. Five tulip looking flowers extend upwards from a jagged piece of green fabric made to look like grass. The stalks of the flowers are pen and stitching. The leaves that point upwards, two for each flower on each side are a darker green with a light green stitching outline. The tops of the flowers, the bulbs, are a bright orange at the base, with a yellow part sticking out the top, much like a tulip.Block-A-Day 200 – The Tulips This quilt block shows an apple tree with apples in it. The trunk is a dark brown and very wide, tapering up towards the foliage. In the dark green of the greenery are red pieces of fabric with bright green tops that are apples. The foliage is outlined by a bright green stitching. Propped up against the tree is a silver ladder, and nexto the silver ladder is a satchel that's tan with several apples of the same kind inside.Block-A-Day 292 – The Apple Orchard This quilt block is a corner block. it has a dark green patch of grass in the bottom left corner. On that patch of grass is a basket. The basket is a brown fabric with a lot of pen marks on it in a hatched design to make it look like a weaved basket. Inside the basket are several vegetables. There are carrots, cucumbers, lettuce, and a red pepper each with corresponding colored fabric. Coming out from the center of the basket is a stick that's holding up a detailed sign that has written in black, "Harvest Sale."Block-A-Day 330 – Thanksgiving Basket
