Top 2 Bottom is a salon and day spa located across the street from my shop. I’ve known the owner for almost her entire life. I was her 4-H leader when she was a girl. She has set up a really cute space and performs most services. She can do your hair, nails, wax and toes.
He’s an amazing artist and a very nice guy. Howard is a wonderful painter and sculptor. You can see his bronze sculptures all over. I personally think a lot of Grand Lake’s charm is from Howard’s sculptures.
This is named after a cafe across the street from my shop. It has tables with umbrellas on the sidewalk. Originally the building it is in was a small department store called The Villager. Other businesses have been in there including the Fabric Nook when the previous owner had it.

Dr. Sue is the presiding vet now but for many years Dr. Larry Peterson was there to take care of whatever animal problem that I had. He did everything. He mercifully and sympathetically ended the lives of several beloved 4 legged friends. He also came to the farm to help with a variety of oddball things my livestock got into.
Mary’s parents put their spare change in a jar in the kitchen just for the ice cream truck. She would climb up on the step stool and put her fist into the jar and count out the amount she’d need for 2 small cones.
He in turn barks at them and runs them back up the tree. Rabbits live in burrows in the brush and he keeps them at bay and only occasionally one will sneak into the garden for a special treat.
When you live in a windy place it’s hard to grow hollyhocks. I think they are so pretty and showy despite their poisonous nature. However, today’s star is the hummingbird. We have some fun facts about our little feathered friends.
Sunflowers were used as far back as 1000 B.C. by native americans. They were cultivated as a food source. The seeds, high in calcium, were crushed to make flour for bread. Ground to make a peanut butter like paste and the oil expressed for cooking and use on skin and hair.
When I cook lamb I use a lot of lemon juice. I add a couple of tablespoons to any ground lamb dish. I always marinate lamb cuts and legs in this marinade .
