This quilt block shows an orange tent. It's a simple set up tent with two poles holding up a center rail that a blanket is laid over. There are brown steel toed red wings drawn in pen to the right side of the entrance of the tent. There's also a fishing pole above them drawn in. At the entrance of the tent is a camouflage sleeping bag rolled up (with pen markings for the camouflage). Next to the that is a red tacklebox that is drawn in with red pen. And finally to the left next to the orange tent is drawn in a lantern. This is all against a blue salmon-patterned background.

These boots remind me of the ones my husband wore every day. He always wore steel toe Red Wings. The only time I ever saw him in anything else was when we were on vacation at the beach. He was barefoot then. Everyone who knew him well used to kid him about his “Lil’ Abner” boots.

I finally said at one point “What are you waiting for?” He looked at me and said “Sometimes you just have to sit and think for 5 *@#x!!+ minutes!.”

This block made me think of my husband too because he treated our town’s water for 32 years. I thought this would make a perfect water treatment building. Think how this building would fit into a Dr. Suess story. A hose could attach to the spigot and water could come out and put out fires. Can you tell four of my young grandchildren live with me?
