Tina and Jenny Doan

Starstruck!

Several weeks ago I was standing at the counter in my store, when the front door opens.  I have a tiny little bell that rings when someone comes in my shop.  I look up and a tall, attractive woman with a great smile walks through my door and straight up to me with her hand extended.  She says, “Hi.  I’m Jenny Doan, Missouri Star Quilt Company.”

I know immediately who is standing there because, of course, the Missouri Star Quilt Company is huge!  She exudes confidence and personality.  I shake her hand and am dumbstruck.  I am standing there with my mouth open.  I could not have been any more surprised if Elvis had been standing before me and saying, “Howdy ma’am.”

I then noticed that her charming husband was with her.  Jenny could not have been more delightful.  She walked around my shop and looked at everything and complimented me on displays and fabrics.  We talked about our backgrounds and discovered both of us had started with garment sewing.  She even bought some fabric.  Imagine that!

I found myself almost holding my breath as she looked at my store.  My inner voice was saying, “Calm down, get a grip!  She puts her panties on one leg at a time just like you do!”

It was a day I’ll never forget.  I was tickled pink.  Thanks Jenny!
