Today I continue my quest in creating and posting one block a day of the fabulous That Town And Country Quilt by the lovely Susan-Claire Mayfield. This is day two hundred and forty-seven of that project.

This quilt block shows a small wooden (orange-tan) gate with two topiary plants on either side. The topiary plants are in dark orange terracotta pots with long black stems/trunks, and a blob of dark green foliage at the top. These are outlined by a gray and white stitching. Each slat in the gate is also outlined by a gray and white stitching.

This nice gate gives access to the rear of a café.

It screens a nice little area set up for the employees who work there where they can have lunch and break time. I think this is especially nice.

I wish I had space behind my little shop to have an area like this. When you are inside helping people all day, you can go days without ever seeing sunshine except early and late.

So this little area is an employee oasis. Sun and shade and a table to eat and read. There is even a flower bed to provide color and fragrance.

The owner also keeps a cooler stocked daily with ice and water. What a nice boss.

On top the tree stump, which is decorated with a swirling stitch is a black snail with a red shell. The snail is cresting the butte of the tree stump and looking to the left. It has two antenna.
