It was so scary and exciting at the same time. High school was the big league. Didn’t you become COOL automatically when you got there? … Of course not!

This quilt block shows a yellow double-decker bus against a gray background. The bus has two big brown wheels with off-white two-holed round buttons in the centers. There is a driver's wheel penned in the bottom front of the bus, but more importantly there is a blue sign on the side that says,

Low overpasses are common here and that is a problem for these tall buses. Also, they are ok for urban areas where speeds are low and winds are broken by the buildings.

This is another corner quilt block. Against a gray background is a patch of grass in the bottom right, lighter than some of the other blocks before. There are little green sprouts, and on the sprouts are red two-holed flower shaped buttons.

Block-A-Day 111 – School Zone

This corner block marks where the school zone starts. I lived on the corner right across from our high school. I can tell you in real life those corners do not have sweet little flower patches on them.

This block shows a blue structure with a boat on top. The boat has a brown wooden hull, and looks a bit like Noah's ark with a red roof. On the boat and building big letters read,
