This quilt block shows a very dark brown tree with a big root base. There is no grass, but there are some dark green leaves on the branches of the tree, but not too many. On the right lower branch of the tree (there are 5) sits a brown owl. It has two large eyes, a triangular darker brown nose and little claws. The owl's details, including it's crown are made with a light colored stitching and a bit of yellow pen. All of this is against a moody blue salmon-patterned background.

Here is a confession about me. I can’t ride a bicycle. Even as a girl I couldn’t. My parents gave me a really pretty purple bike. I was able to balance okay, but I hit things. Like, head on. I would come into the driveway and hit the back of my mother’s car every time. It was a struggle.
