Block-A-Day 248 – E. R. Thorne
My good friend, Bert Shilling’s grandfather was E.R. Thorne. He came to Cowdrey, Colorado in 1903. He purchased the first general store from Frank Lyons, his uncle. He built the current store in 1927.
Block-A-Day 142 – District No. 1
District #1 is responsible for 150 square miles in the Central Rocky Mountains. The volunteer department was established in 1939. Our district was formed in 1951. They handle about 160 calls a year They do wildfires, vehicle accidents and hazmat responses.

I’m sure many of you have given blood, I know I have. I have never had a transfusion myself but both of my parents used a lot of blood before they passed away. I kind of think of it as a debt.
Block-A-Day 129 – AZTECA
One of the storage rooms at the Fabric Nook has a concrete floor. That is the spot where we are attached. A long time ago it was the ice room for both establishments.
