When you have a pig roast at your house you can ice the pig in it before you roast it and then wash it out well and fill it with ice, soda, water, and beer. A smaller tank will hold ice and a keg.

This quilt block shows a golden bird bath with a little bird on it. This is against a blue salmon-patterned background. The birdbath has a wide circular base, a cylinder support, and then a large concave half globe holding a bit of water. The bird is a deeper orange with dark tan tail feathres. The birdbath is outlined by dark stitches and light stitches, and has a bit of pen indicating water.

If birds have access to water they will take 2 or 3 baths a day. They bathe to clean themselves of parasites, ticks, lice, mites and fleas that can eat their feathers and cause infections and disease.

This block shows a metal gate with metal slats across it against a blue background. The gate itself has a little latch top open and close it. Each slat is gray and outlined with a light stitching. On each side of the gate is a post with a round spherical top. On the left post is an orange-yellow bird chirping.

She can go into her garden in her big hat and gloves with a harvest basket and harvest the vegetables for her family’s table in solitude or with a small helper or two.

This block shows a brown garden fork sticking in the ground. It's like a pitch fork but it's completely brown and made of wood. It's fairly large. On top of the fork is a yellow singing bird. Next to the fork are two beautiful plans, drawn by green pen and stitching. Each flower has bulbs on the ends, one in a drooping fashion that are red, and the other along the stalk going up that are pink. This is all against a blue background.

An amazing quilter, she once told me if she had to choose between quilting and gardening she would choose gardening. One of her best ongoing projects is her compost pile. She loves her compost pile.

This quilt block shows a blue gray background and a patch of grass in the bottom right. On the patch of grass is an orange bench and on the the bench is a little red bird with a yellow beak facing left.

This VERY cute bird hangs out here looking for handouts. So, there might be a bird deposit on the bench. Perhaps this is the bird from the tree outside Lena and Angie’s house. It’s so colorful it’s probably the male. I was so excited the morning before last. I saw a bald eagle at my house!
