She was surprised by how much she really loved quilting and how creative she was. Maggie attended lots of quilting retreats with her friends. It was at one of those retreats that it occurred to her that this might be what she should do with her house.

This little square reminds me of the planters that were in front of my shop when I bought it 5 1/2 years ago. They were big square things that were waist high and about 24″ square.

Sunflowers were used as far back as 1000 B.C. by native americans. They were cultivated as a food source. The seeds, high in calcium, were crushed to make flour for bread. Ground to make a peanut butter like paste and the oil expressed for cooking and use on skin and hair.

At the time it was surrounded by a large kitchen garden and a carriage house and landscaped grounds. The fields were even further behind the house. It was here before the town grew up around it.
